Build a character, gather companions and fight turn-based battles where height, fire, water and clever ideas matter as much as stats. Talk, sneak or fight your way through.
Who it suits
Adults who love choices, conversation and tactics. It is long, wordy and rated 18.
01The first hours
The opening on a crashing ship teaches the basics, then drops you on a beach with a strange new friend. Within an hour you realise the game says yes to most ideas: talk to the animal, push the enemy off a ledge, or simply walk away.
02Settling in
The middle is about your companions. Each has a story that unfolds at camp, and they will judge your choices, sometimes enough to leave. Battles stay fresh because every fight can be solved several ways.
03The long road
This is a very long game, and the final act is busier than the rest. Resting at camp is the natural end to a session: everything is saved, and your party usually has something to say about the day.
Why it works
- Freedom to solve problems your own way
- Superb, memorable companions
- Camp makes a perfect stopping point
Watch out for
- Very long and very wordy
- The final act is crowded
