Lies of P

A dark retelling of Pinocchio in a gothic city of puppets gone mad. A demanding action game with excellent bosses and a sharp sense of style.

What you do

Fight precise, punishing battles, build weapons by combining blades and handles, and explore a ruined Belle Époque city.

Who it suits

Players who enjoy hard action games. A good next step for anyone who liked Elden Ring.

01The first hours

You wake as a puppet in a train station, and the city of Krat is already in chaos. The first hours teach blocking and timing; mistakes are costly.

02Settling in

The weapon assembly system gives the middle a lot of depth, and the bosses are some of the best in the genre. The city is gloomy and beautiful.

03The long road

It is shorter than Elden Ring and more linear, which many will prefer. Stargazers are spaced well for one-hour sessions.

Why it works

  • Excellent bosses
  • Inventive weapon crafting
  • Tighter and shorter than its rivals

Watch out for

  • Very demanding
  • Linear compared with open-world games
