What you do

Pick one of eight heroes, recruit the others, and fight turn-based battles built around finding weaknesses and breaking enemy shields.

Who it suits

Fans of classic Japanese RPGs and anyone who wants a big game in tidy pieces. Suitable for teenagers.

01The first hours

You choose your first traveller, and their opening chapter is a complete short story. The art style, like a diorama lit by lanterns, is lovely from the first minute.

02Settling in

Recruiting the others gives the game its structure: eight separate stories, each told in chapters. The battle system is simple to learn and deep to master.

03The long road

The stories meet at the end, more than in the first game. Chapters are perfect evening sessions with a clear finish.

Why it works

  • Chapter structure suits busy lives
  • Beautiful art and music
  • Satisfying battle system

Watch out for

  • Stories rarely interact until late
  • Can feel grindy
