What you do

Take on missions in a huge city, build your character around hacking, stealth or firepower, and follow a story about identity and mortality.

Who it suits

Adults who like dense cities and strong characters. Rated 18 for good reason.

01The first hours

The opening sets up your character's background and then a heist that goes very wrong. The city of Night City is overwhelming at first, in a good way.

02Settling in

Once the story opens up, side jobs and characters fill the city with stories. The 2.0 update rebuilt the skills and police systems for the better.

03The long road

The main story can be finished in under 40 hours, with plenty more for explorers. Missions are tidy session lengths.

Why it works

  • Stunning, dense city
  • Memorable characters
  • Much improved since launch

Watch out for

  • Very demanding on older hardware
  • Adult content throughout
